Our stories

Every elder, volunteer and visitor has one

Only true stories, shared only with the permission of the people in them.

Real moments

A few glimpses from the home

Real, unposed moments — with no words put in anyone’s mouth.

A resident smiling and holding up a devotional colouring-book picture she completed

Small joys

An afternoon with a colouring book

How stories are shared

Consent comes first

An elder’s story belongs to the elder. Before any story, quotation or photograph goes on this website, these principles apply.

  1. AskThe person is asked, in plain words, where and how their story will appear.
  2. AgreeConsent is given in writing — by the elder, or by family where the elder cannot give it.
  3. ProtectNo medical details, identity documents or private family information are ever shared.
  4. RespectAnyone may withdraw their story at any time.
